The Rules Of The Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lottery
- 1) All applications to enter the Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lottery must be from people 18 years and over.
- 2) The Promoter (Barnsley Hospice) will conduct the weekly lottery draw every Friday. The draw will be made utilising a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved, third-party test house.
- 3) The winning numbers will be published at the Barnsley Hospice Lottery website (www.barnsleyhospicelottery.org) and will be available via the Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lottery Office helpline from the following working day. Please telephone 01226 779 382 (Monday-Friday 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.). Winning numbers may also occasionally be shared on the hospice’s social media platforms.
- 4) The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry and payment must be made in advance by one of the methods permitted.
- 5) All proceeds from the Lottery go to Barnsley Hospice (Registered office address: Church Street, Gawber, Barnsley S75 2RL. Registered Charity No.: 700586).
- 6) The Promoter may reject any application without giving reason at its absolute discretion. No detail in the application may be changed in any way once it has been submitted, except for a change of address.
- 7) The prizes for the Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lottery are printed on the tickets and in the leaflets provided and are advertised on the Hospice website. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest is payable. Prizes will be sent by cheque within 14 days. Entrants will be notified as to any change in the prize structure.
- 8) The Promoter is not responsible for any delay in bank payments.
- 9) No liability is accepted for the loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication.
- 10) The Promoter may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription, or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme.
- 11) The Promoter’s decisions made pursuant to the Rules shall, once made, be final and binding.

In 2022, £267,906 was raised from ticket sales in our Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lotteries and seasonal Bumper Draws, with 14.06% spent on prizes, 41.89% on expenses and 44.05% being used to fund the work of Barnsley Hospice*. This translated into a fantastic £118,013.
In 2022, the likelihood of winning a prize was, on average, 1 in 694 in our regular Barnsley Hospice Weekly Lotteries and 1 in 1,784 in our seasonal Bumper Draws.
Players in our weekly lotteries and seasonal Bumper Draws are automatically entered into a weekly Rollover draw in which they could win up to £5,000, since our Rollover prize increases by £100 each week it isn't won (when in 2022, the likelihood of winning was, on average, 1 in 261,124) and if it reaches £5,000, then one lucky player will be guaranteed to win that week (when the likelihood of winning reverts to the above weekly lottery and seasonal Bumper Draw averages).
